Note: Updated January, 2021

When the rich snowbirds leave South Florida in April for points North,  many clean out their closets and get rid of cocktail dresses and gowns that were worn in “the season”. Heaven forbid one should wear the same dress for two seasons. The upshot of that? It’s an ideal time to go fashion hunting at consignment shops from Jupiter and Boca Raton to Palm Beach and Wellington.  At some of the shops you’ll find antiques and collectibles as well, and there’s a consignment shop too for men. Where to go? Here’s a list put together by colleagues at Discover the Palm Beaches. Love to hear if you have any others as well!

Antique Row — Located in West Palm Beach, Antique Row is a charming district with over 40 antique shops offering an impressive selection of 17th to 20th century antiques, fine and decorative arts, period deco, vintage and modern furnishings, and much more. All within walking distance, this vast array of quality antiques stores, specialty shops and art galleries are complemented by several award-winning restaurants. http://www.westpalmbeachantiques.com/

The Church Mouse near Worth Avenue  is said to be one of the top donation based resale shops in the country. This mother of all consignment shops in Palm Beach is over 4500 square feet. Last time I was there I bought a wonderful, glam hostess skirt. The store sells everything from top shelf designer clothing, handbags, and accessories to furniture, crystal, china, and books.
