Handbag Pick for Resort Wear
Looking for a handbag that’s perfect for resort wear and travel – something that is light, chic, and won’t break the bank so you can buy it in more than one color? Not surprisingly I found it at a PopUp shop at a stylish Mykonos themed party at Villa Azur restaurant.
The brand is Good People, whose owner and designer, Clemence Goudard, came from a well pedigreed fashion background including Celine and Alberta Ferretti . The handbags come in clutch and shoulder bag models and are made of all natural materials — raffia, silk and cotton.
They’re in oh so handsome, rich solid colors, tweed like patterns, and stripes. Think royal blue, tangerine, grey, lipstick red, chartreuse, cream, and many more. Some feature a striking striped band that runs through the center of the handbag.
Quality clasps are gold plated and carefully made so as to not tarnish. And the best yet, they’re made by hand in Madagascar by the woman farmers of Ambatolampy . Clemence discovered the women in her travels through East Africa and wanted to help them earn a living, thus the brand’s name — Good People. Prices range from $110 to $260.
They’re sold at leading boutiques in Paris and Biarritz and online at www.goodpeople.fr, and have been featured in Elle and Marie France. She plans to do more popups in Miami.
