Paint Nite

By Jennifer Agress

If you’re looking for a different kind of girls night out (or even a date night!) in Miami, try your hand at one of the painting and wine classes Miami. Get a little buzz, get a little creative, and most exciting, get a new piece of art (read below how to have it made into stationery). Here are some painting and wine classes around town in South Florida:

Bottle & Bottega Paint Night

This summer, pair your sophisticated night at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach with some creativity! The haute hotel has a weekly Bottle & Bottega Paint Night at its poolside restaurant, La Côte, that takes place every Thursday night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Each class is two hours long, and during it, professional paint instructors will guide you with step-by-step instructions as you create your own piece of art amidst heavenly views of the Atlantic Ocean. All painting supplies, artist instruction, rosé and select appetizers are provided, and no art experience is needed. Fontainebleau Miami Beach is located at 4441 Collins Avenue. Each two-hour class is priced at $50 per person, and reservations should be made by contacting the Concierge Desk at concierge@fontainebleau.com.

Paint Nite

Change the tone of your typical nights out with Paint Nite, which takes place at more than 3,500 bars across the globe. Offering the perfect cocktail of creativity and conversation, Paint Nite invites you to drink a glass of wine and paint your heart out with the help of a professional artist there to lead you through step-by-step instruction. Each night, the art has a different theme, but the concept is still the same: have fun while you explore your inner artist. The best part? No art experience necessary! Each class is priced at $45 per person. You can also view a full calendar of Paint Nite events in South Florida here.

Sip Tales

Head to Hallandale Beach for Sip Tales, which fuses a little painting with a lot of fun (read as: wine). Grab your friends, kick back and relax as South Florida’s most talented artists guide you through step-by-step instructions to painting your own masterpiece. You’ll start with a blank canvas, and leave with some new art for your home or office walls. Offering both brunch and evening classes, each Sip Tales class includes one complimentary glass of wine or a mimosa, as well as all of the art supplies you’ll need. Sip Tales has its own studio in Hallandale Beach, which is located at 1113 East Hallandale Beach Boulevard. Every class is 2.5 hours and costs $30+ per person. For more information, or to register for a class, contact Sip Tales at (954)-507-7224 or info@siptales.com. You can view the full schedule of July classes here.

Painting Without Brushes

Grab your friends and family and head to The Wynwood Yard on Tuesday nights, at 7 p.m., for Painting Without Brushes: a paint class for all ages. Taking place in “The Yard’s” garden-like setting, this three-hour class invites artists of all ages to paint, eat, drink, socialize and even dance. (There will be a live DJ there all night to keep the party going!) There is a full bar and plenty of interesting food trucks where you can get food, but the real draw of the night is, of course, the painting. At this one-of-a-kind painting class, you’ll get to choose your own canvas size and paint with anything and everything–like hands, fingers, sponges, potatoes, found objects and more–except a brush! Supplies, the canvas, a painting smock and professional instruction will be provided by the venue, and no art experience is necessary. The Wynwood Yard is located on NW 29th Street, at the lots at 56, 64, 70 and 82. Each class is priced at $20+ per person. It is important to note that paint can stain clothing, and schedule is subject to change. Full schedule of events at The Wynwood Yard can be viewed here.
