Sinatra lovers in Miami have a rare chance to see Sinatra: An America Icon, a special exhibit for the Frank Sinatra Centennial. The exhibition  has only been in New York and LA. From March 4 to June 5  HistoryMiami Museum in the Miami Dade Cultural Center, 101 W.Flagler, will present the exceptional multi-media exhibition exploring the life of Sinatra. Curated by the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, it combines never-before-seen photos, family mementos, rare correspondence, personal items, artwork, and, of course, music.

A special display will highlight Frank Sinatra’s connections to the South Florida area. During the mid-20th century,he not only performed at local venues, but also shot several movies and television programs in location in the region, including at the Fontainebleau Hotel. On view will be concert programs and movie and television memorabilia that tell Sinatra’s story.

As the official exhibit of the 2015 Frank Sinatra Centennial, Sinatra: An American Icon traces 100 years of Sinatra legacy, from Hoboken, N.J., through superstardom, chronicling the meteoric rise of his music career, his Hollywood success, personal life, and humanitarian work. Most of the pieces have never been on public display before. This exhibit also gives visitors a unique glimpse of what it was like to personally know the man behind ‘The Voice.’ through items of his clothing, including his signature fedora and tuxedo, original paintings by Sinatra, and golf clubs.

There’s  a grand opening party on March 3 for $45 and $75 for non-members.The ticket price includes Italian light bites, an  open bar serving Jack Daniels cocktails (because Jack was Sinatra’s favorite), wine and champagne. A DJ will spin
Sinatra classics and a singer performs  throughout the evening.  Otherwise, admission to the HistoryMiami museum is $10 for adults.

And if you still want more Sinatra, Frank Sinatra Jr. will be in concert at the Arsht Center March 11 at 8 p.m. backed by a full orchestra, some of whom played with Sr.
