Allure’s Best Facialist Miami

I’m a great believer in beauty maintenance and “proactivity” as well, but I never had much luck with facials. Top spas, dermatologist offices, stand alone facial salons, I’ve tried them all, but never saw much improvement until now. The big difference? A facial that is really custom tailored to your skin. Featured in Allure magazine’s “Best of Beauty” issue as the best facialist Miami, at Karen Taylor Skin Care and Medical Aesthetic Center , 5901 SW 74th Street#305, T.786-325-9312, regular clients call to make an appointment and the receptionist asks what treatment they want. Invariably they say, whatever Karen thinks within their budget. I went to the South Miami salon booking a signature facial for 90 minutes. There were nine steps in my treatment: cleansing, lucas steamer, light exfoliation, steam, extractions (removal of blackheads, whiteheads and other skin imperfections such as Milia), calming/disinfecting, facial massage, appropriate masque, final cream. Recently the dermatologist had me use a cream to remove some pre-cancerous growths which I told Karen about, so she had me forgo the peel and spent more time on a light exfoliation/moisturizing and the extractions (in my case, 20 minutes worth). Products used include Yonka Paris Skincare during the facials supplemented with Skinceuticals and also Repechage 4 Layer Facial. Then, there’s the pampering – massage of the neck and shoulder area, arms, and feet combined with a moisturizing cream. That, together with music, the soft sounds of the sea and a warmed treatment table, and I was in heaven. She also does skin treatments of the hands, arms, and chest area – everything from Microdermabrasian to Glycolic peels to Compu-lift Micro Current non-surgical facelift and more. You can have them done at the same time you get your facial, one trip. That’s on tap next visit. The signature facial is $150.  As you can imagine, I’m hooked.

Plus, it’s a great place for Botox and anti-aging injectibles like Radiesse and Voluma with top pro Dr.Anna Sottile (my “go to” person).
