While it will always be known for its hipster, art vibes and gentrified feel, Wynwood is gradually getting more and more upscale. From top restaurants like Alter – which started the luxury movement in this once-destitute neighborhood – to fine shops like MVM Miami and Illesteva, Wynwood has become a must-see neighborhood for every type of patron. And since we love all things shopping, we’ve rounded up our favorite shops this up-and-coming part of the city has to offer. Check them out, below:
Surprisingly, considering how many people love ice cream that there hasn’t been a shop that aims to have the best ice cream sandwich in America. Jimmy Shamieh set about to change this with C.R.E.A.M. which he started in Berkeley, California, with an offshoot that just opened in Aventura, 18719 Biscayne Boulevard (T.786-657-7905). The ice cream sandwich, he said, is "about rediscovering the inner child in you". They're delicious, fun to create and eat, and did indeed remind me of my childhood. And while on the subject of ice cream, wait until you read about Coop's MicroCreamery toppings, so good you can eat them without the ice cream.
Though tourism numbers to Miami scored yet another record, the competition for those visitors (and locals) dining dollars has never been tougher. Off season is the time restaurants take stock, do some retooling, or close. And others get ready for fall and the new season. Here are some notable openings such as 1111 Peruvian Bistro, redos and a high profile closing you should know about. I've also thrown in a few new places I've checked out and others on my radar screen for after my vacation.

Plus, there's a cool pop up shop and happenings at the St.Regis Bal Harbour to start the celebrations early:

Another welcome fashion import from Spain has come to Miami, Aristocrazy luxury fashion jewelry, its first outpost in the US. I’ve always admired and coveted their chic, bold, statement-making designs when I visit their shop in Madrid, marveling how they look like the real thing when in fact, it’s fashion jewelry. Now the temptation is within easy reach, at the Aventura Mall where it opened in July.
Since our last post on daycations, several great additions have come on the scene. From a spa & wellness package to a day at the beach, we’ve rounded up our seven picks for daycations in Miami – perfect for enjoying a single-day trip to one of the area’s luxury hotels without the overnight stay.
A long time subscriber, Helen from Borrowed & Blue online wedding planning resource for Miami weddings wrote that she has had a number of questions ranging from how I decided to blog and my dream day in Miami to the challenges of being a blogger. She said others probably had the same questions and asked if I would do a blogpost with the answers. After reading the questions, I thought it’d be a great idea, so here are the answers to questions you too might have been wondering about.
