Beehives grace the roof of Paris’ Grand Palais, making more honey here than in the countryside according to the official beekeeper. Slovenia has made a bet on beekeeping tourism as its niche in the world of travel. In New York City last year there was a Beekeeper’s Ball. And select luxury hotels across North America are making their own honey, but none in South Florida until now. Plus, an oh so sweet menu.
One of the world’s leading equestrian show jumping series will make its debut in the US in Miami April 2-4 bringing Olympic level sport to the beach. The best riders in the world will compete for the Grand Prix trophy for the inaugural Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach.
Piaget has a new Limelight series of unique, playful cocktail rings in 18K gold literally inspired by cocktails. Semi-precious stones have been cut to resemble fruits, leaves, even ice cubes and other "ingredients" and have names like Mojito, Lime Tonic, Cosmopolitan, and Lemon Fizz (what happened to The Martini?).

There’s no lack of Spanish restaurants in Miami. Most of them are tapas bars and tavernas , Old World style restaurants of which the best is La Dorada, or the newer entrants, gastro lounges. Miami has become a retail incubator, an entry point into the US for launching a new brand or trying a new lifestyle concept. And so it is with Chrome Hearts, this year celebrating its 25th anniversary with an exciting new retail experience for the luxury accessories, leather and furniture brand at its new Design District location, 4025 N.E. 2nd Avenue.

You poetry lovers, April is the month you get equal time with prose and the Brickell Literary Society and Prologue Society . O, Miami returns next month for a month long round of 30 events and 23 projects that attempt to deliver a poem to all 2.6 million+ residents of Miami-Dade County.
Some of the most exciting food I’ve had in Miami of late was at the recently opened Coya, 999 Brickell Avenue (T.305-415-9990). And then there were all of the beautiful people, many Latins and Euros, who are members of the Coya Club in London and Dubai. We went as part of “friends and family”, a soft opening to fine tune the service and operation and we loved it.
It happens seldom that I covet just about everything in a store. The newly opened home accessories gift shop, Maru's Corner is an exception. Venezuelan owner and interior designer Maru and Ana Ulivi (her daughter) have exquisite taste as you'll see from the photo gallery.
